Annual congressional financial disclosure
01The disclosure
| Source | Annual congressional financial disclosure |
|---|---|
| Format | PDF. The index of filings is machine readable; the holdings are a document. |
| Changes | Filed once a year, for the previous calendar year |
| Retrieval | No network. The filing was read by hand into this repository. |
| Verified | 2026-08-16 |
02From document to vault
Transcribed into the repository, reviewed, and shipped with the release rather than fetched at runtime.
These are disclosed holdings that this chain does not offer, so the vault cannot hold them. The remaining weights are scaled up to total 100%.
03What it cannot say
- An annual filing describes last year. It is the slowest source in the roster and the character page shows how old it is.
- Amounts are disclosed as bands rather than as figures, so weights derive from band midpoints and not from exact values.
- Assets that are not tokenised on this chain are dropped, which for this filing is most of it.
04Traps, measured
Each of these was found by reading the live source, and each would have produced a basket that looked right and was not.
- The official document is a PDF. A parser that extracted a portfolio from a government form automatically, every year, with nobody checking, would be a liability rather than a feature.
- Commercial data providers republish congressional activity as transactions, not holdings. Transactions cannot rebuild a portfolio without a starting position nobody discloses.
Holdings come from mandatory public disclosures. Characters are referred to by nickname.
